My name is Xandra Homes. I’m an artist, illustrator, podcaster, and media film studies student.

I’m currently available for commissions.

I’m based in Houston, Texas, and am probably either listening to a podcast on filmmaking or comedy, watching some of my favorite movies while illustrating for commissions, or teaching painting classes in interesting locations.

After graduating with a degree in media production, I spent several years teaching painting classes and working in technology. Over time, I realized that I wanted to grow my business as an artist and work on more creative pursuits.

Illustrations and Painting

I have been producing illustrations of nostalgic media to create a bright pallet and provide people with a creative way to express themselves. I also take those same techniques from illustration and parlay them into portrait and landscape painting to express my clients.

Media Exploration

I have been examining why certain media influences us so much, as it does in my other works. I like to explore the elements of media that bring us comfort in these times of such challenges. I also examine why we are revisiting these pieces of media with such fervor. We like to criticize these pieces of media from the perspective of current times. I like to explore why sometimes that isn’t always a good thing and why sometimes that is totally justified. I would also like to expand different generations’ interest in vintage media without harsh criticism.

Current Events

On August 2nd, I will be a part of the #OffTheStreet - White Linen market in Houston Heights. Check out the event Here.

Today, I complete commissions for cosplayers and create illustrations to accompany my other works. I am always open to other works. I also am working on a blog linked here to continue my own media studies.
